NTR Foundation
The NTR Foundation is the philanthropic organisation of NTR plc., the international renewable energy group which builds and runs green energy and resource sustaining businesses. The Foundation's mission is to address the challenges posed by climate change, resource sustainability and security of energy supply throughtthe provision of targeted financial and expert support to projects, research and non-governmental organisations. In keeping with NTR’s entrepreneurial heritage, the NTR Foundation supports projects that address these issues in an entrepreneurial way. The Foundation is the sponsor of the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Awards programme for a three year period from 2008 to 2011.

The One Foundation
The One Foundation is a multi-year funder of Social Entrepreneurs, supporting all aspects of our work and providing the core funding base for the organisation as a whole. Set up in 2004, the One Foundation is an Irish foundation based in Dublin, funding charitable causes both in Ireland and the developing world. They operate to the philanthropic principle of 'giving while living', their founder being involved in all decisions. Over the next ten years the One Foundation intends to fully distribute all their resources.

The Iris O'Brien Foundation
The Iris O'Brien Foundation generously agreed to fully fund the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Level 1 awards for three years (2007 - 2009). The foundation, setup in 2000 by leading Irish entrepreneur Denis O'Brien, identifies and assists projects in Ireland and internationally which aim to alleviate disadvantaged communities.


Vodafone Ireland Foundation
Social Entrepreneurs Ireland received a Level 3 sector capacity building grant from the Vodafone Ireland Foundation in 2006. The Vodafone Ireland Foundation was established in 2003 and is the first Foundation of its kind in Ireland. It is among 23 Vodafone Foundations around the world and is part of Vodafone's commitment to be a responsible global citizen and member of society.

Maurice Healy 
Maurice Healy has made a five year funding commitment to Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (2008 - 2012). Maurice is Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Healy Group and President of IBEC, the Irish Business and Employers Confederation. In 1994, he set up the Irish Chemical Marketers Association and was its founding and first President. Maurice also presided over FECC, the European Association of Chemical Distributors. He is a strong supporter of social entrepreneurship and the involvement of Irish business with social deprivation issues, especially those geared at education deficits.

Diageo Ireland has partnered with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland on the Arthur Guinness Fund. During Summer 2009, the Guinness 'Signature' Campaign raised €2.5M euro by inviting the public to sign their name next to Arthur Guinness' to help create The Arthur Guinness Fund. The first round of the Arthur Guinness Fund was a huge success, with 10 inspiring projects receiving €100,000 each. Over the course of 2 years The Arthur Guinness Fund will empower up to 25 individuals and their associated organisations to help create opportunities for communities throughout the island of Ireland. Visit www.guinness.com for more information.

 

Since January 2010, KPMG has partnered with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland on providing professional support and services to our Awardees and Alumni Network. KPMG provided direct support to Frances Black of the Rise Foundation to prepare and write a full business plan for her organisation’s work. Members of the KPMG team delivered a half day workshop for Awardees in April 2010 examining keys areas of focus for CEOs in business planning, tax, accounting and governance. KPMG tax advisors also ran individual tax sessions for a group of Awardees and the Awardee and Alumni Network have full access to KPMG’s expert “Running Your Own Business” information booklet.

Centre for Nonprofit Management, Trinity College Dublin
The Centre for Nonprofit Management is based within the School of Business, Trinity College, Dublin. The Centre supports and develops research, education and dialogue about the Third Sector and nonprofit organisations by creating and facilitating relationships across disciplines and across sectors. The Centre, in conjunction the Trinity Foundation and Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, is developing an Initiative on Social Entrepreneurship, to be launched with the Trinity College School of Business.

DCU is one of Ireland’s youngest, most dynamic universities, offering high quality, high value learning within the broader context of Ireland's economic and social needs. MBA students from DCU Business School help Level 1 Social Entrepreneur Ireland Awardees to develop their project concepts, to identify revenue sources, and to prepare a business and financing plan.

Young Social Innovators (YSI), was founded by Sr Stanislaus Kennedy and Rachel Collier and is Ireland's largest social awareness and active citizenship and education programme. Young Social Innovators gets young people (15-18yrs) involved in action which helps improve the lives of others in their community.
As Social Enterprise partner of the Young Social Innovators programme, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland works with YSI on the YSI Make it Work initiative, which comprises the YSI Den and Social Enterprise Fund.

Educate Together
Educate Together is the representative organisation of the Educate Together primary schools in Ireland. Educate Together aims to meet a growing need in Irish society for schools that recognise the developing diversity of Irish life. Educate Together guarantees children and parents of all faiths and none equal respect in the operation and governing of education. Social Entrepreneurs Ireland has worked with Educate Together to produce a series of class modules to introduce the concept of social entrepreneurship as part of its Ethical Curriculum.
