Social Finance Foundation

The Social Finance Foundation is a wholesale lender of social finance, providing finance to social lending organisations so that they in turn can support community development and social enterprise.

The social lending organisations which SFF provides funding to are currently Clann Credo and Community Finance Ireland. SFF also has a subsidiary company, Microfinance Ireland, which lends to micro-enterprises, including start-ups and existing businesses.

In 2015 SFF partnered with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland to sponsor The Impact Series, a calendar of events designed to inspire innovative ideas and to spark discussion and debate around key social issues and the role that social entrepreneurship can have in addressing these issues.

The Vodafone Ireland Foundation was established in 2003 as one of the first corporate foundations in Ireland.

It is among 23 Vodafone Foundations around the world and is part of Vodafone’s commitment to be a responsible global citizen and member of society. The Vodafone Ireland Foundation has been a partner and supporter of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland since 2006. The partnership has included the award of a sector capacity building grant from the Vodafone Ireland Foundation to Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and the inclusion of winners of the Vodafone World of Difference Programme in the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Alumni Network.

Since January 2010, KPMG has partnered with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland on providing professional support and services to our Awardees and Alumni Network.

KPMG provided direct support to Frances Black of the Rise Foundation to prepare and write a full business plan for her organisation’s work. Members of the KPMG team delivered a half day workshop for Awardees in April 2010 examining key areas of focus for CEOs in business planning, tax, accounting and governance. KPMG tax advisors also ran individual tax sessions for a group of Awardees and the Awardee and Alumni Network have full access to KPMG’s expert “Running Your Own Business” information booklet.
