Caoimhe is currently studying Economics, Politics, and Law in DCU. As soon as she started college in DCU Caoimhe threw herself into society life, becoming the first-year representative to the Raising and Giving (RAG) society. That year Caoimhe helped to set up and run a cooking program called “Ballymunch”, teaching parents in the area of Ballymun how to cook. Caoimhe led this programme to go on and win the Best Civic/Charity Society in Ireland at the B.I.C’s. The following year Caoimhe became the Chairperson of the Raising and Giving Society, sustaining 5 social projects, setting up 3 more and running many fundraising events. During her tenure RAG went on to win the President’s Award for Engagement.
Last Summer Caoimhe was accepted onto the Washington Ireland Programme (WIP), where she interned at the American Chemistry Council in the economics department. To mark her success and huge contribution to the programme, Caoimhe was chosen as the class valedictorian for the Washinton Ireland Programme graduation last May.
This year Caoimhe was elected the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Representative to the Students Union, she also became a board member of the society life committee, secretary of An Cumann Gaelach and intersociety relations officer for sobar soc. Caoimhe was also recently awarded outstanding contribution to society life and Individual society person of the year.
When not out socialising, Caoimhe can usually found commuting by bike to different engagements or watching a documentary.
