Sara Dennedy is an Impact Associate with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, designing and delivering support to social entrepreneurs in the early stages. She oversees the selection process to find the highest potential social entrepreneurs in Ireland, runs The Academy for Social Entrepreneurs for individuals at the idea stage, and directly supports the SEI Awardees to help take their projects to the next stage.
Sara holds a B.A. in History and French from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University. Between her studies, Sara worked in France and in Spain as an English Language Assistant.
She began her career working with Dublin-based human rights NGO, Front Line Defenders, going on to work as a project manager in the private sector, and in Focus Ireland within the Advocacy Team. Prior to joining SEI in early 2015, she was Deputy Director of the Reconciliation Fund, dedicated to supporting reconciliation between people and traditions in Ireland, in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Inspired by the social innovation she saw taking place in this sector, and keen to return to work in the not-for-profit sector, Sara found the right combination and role in SEI.
Sara has a passion for music, spending most of her spare time singing, and probably the rest of it listening to podcasts.
