In 2004, having volunteered with Lucca Leadership in the UK for two years, Robert Mulhall set up Lucca Leadership Ireland with the help of some close friends who were inspired by a vision and wanted to make a positive impact themselves. Robert later became the global CEO for Lucca Leadership.
Lucca Leadership Ireland was set up in 2004 as part of a global organisation with affiliates in the Netherlands, Macedonia, Uk, Australia, North America and South Africa. Lucca Leadership programmes are designed for young people from all backgrounds, to help young people to develop their confidence, leadership skills and understanding, and a sense of responsibility to make a positive difference in the world.
Their courses in transformational leadership enable people of all nationalities and backgrounds to discover their purpose, clarify their vision and develop the skills needed to make change happen for the benefit of their communities, nations and ultimately humanity itself.
Robert knows that the best way to ensure the brightest future for Ireland and the world is to create it. There are many problems in this world: poverty, disease, inequality, war, abuse, suicide. However, Robert strongly believes that without great leadership none of these problems will be resolved.
While programmes are no longer in operation on a large scale in Ireland, they are still being run across the world. Robert Mulhall is still working for change, and among other things is the Associate Director of Programs within Concern Worldwide Innovations unit, based in New York City. The Innovations initiative accelerates the discovery and testing of creative solutions to understand and overcome barriers that prevent essential health services from reaching women and children.
Imagine a nation where our young people are confident, inspired, skilled in leadership and willing to work for the good of all and not just themselves. It is a high ideal, but if we don’t aim for greatness we can never achieve it.
