In Ireland an average of 30,000 people die each year (CSO, 2015), resulting in approximately 300,000 bereaved individuals. Since the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic this number has increased, and people have had to face additional barriers and pain caused by grief by not being able to have their support network around them due to lockdowns and restrictions. Shapes Of Grief aims to address the deficit in grief awareness through its education programme, podcast and online resources.

The support of SEI feels like the hand on my back needed to keep moving Shapes of Grief forward with momentum so that we can keep making a difference and ensure that nobody experiencing grief falls through the cracks.
