Remote work has the potential to create greater job opportunities across Ireland, and help reverse the decline of rural communities. The biggest challenge for those who want to work remotely is isolation, and not knowing where to find the work. By building and promoting a community for remote workers, Grow Remote addresses these issues and encourages the creation and sustainability of vibrant rural communities.

“Being announced as a 2019 Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Awardee feels like a huge milestone and a vote of confidence. When we started Grow Remote, we wanted to solve a problem, not build an organisation. They are two different things but when we realised there was a need there to set up as an organisation, we did so and have grown rapidly as an entirely volunteer-led organisation. The financial side of the Award will allow us to now hire a part-time staff member and the non-financial supports will be hugely instrumental in keeping us going.”
